* Colorado 12, at Philadelphia 0: The Rockies’ Matt Holliday lined into a triple play in the first inning -- the Phillies’ second of the season -- then hit a three-run homer his next time up. The Rockies posted the most-lopsided road shutout in team history -- they won 11-0 at San Diego on Sept. 13, 2000. Holliday, who leads the league with 119 RBIs, homered for the fourth game in a row.

* at Pittsburgh 7, Milwaukee 4: Ronny Paulino singled in the go-ahead run during a three-run eighth inning. The Brewers, who left five runners on base in the seventh and eighth innings, dropped to 20-42 at PNC Park, which opened in 2001.

* at Florida 5, Washington 4 (12 innings): Todd Linden singled home Reggie Abercrombie with two out in the 12th. Mike Jacobs led off the inning with a double and Abercrombie ran for him. Miguel Olivo struck out before Abercrombie went to third on Robert Andino’s groundout. Linden then singled to center.

* at Cincinnati 5, St. Louis 1: Bronson Arroyo picked up the fourth win in his last five decisions, and the Reds handed the Cardinals their season-high sixth consecutive loss.

* Chicago 3, at Houston 2: The Astros have lost six of their last seven games and nine of 14 since Cecil Cooper replaced Phil Garner as manager on Aug. 27.

* Arizona 9, at San Francisco 4: Mark Reynolds and Chris Snyder hit consecutive home runs to help the Diamondbacks eliminate the Giants from playoff contention.

* at New York 4, Atlanta 3: The Mets won for the 10th time in 12 games and tightened their grip on first place in the East Division. The Braves played without slugger Chipper Jones (strained muscle) the entire series.

* at Dodgers 6, San Diego 1: James Loney homered for the fifth time in his last six games.
