From Times Wire Reports

A leading Islamic civil rights group called on former New York Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani to drop Rep. Peter T. King (R-N.Y.) from his GOP presidential campaign after King called for greater scrutiny of U.S. mosques. But Giuliani flatly rejected the idea and stood by his friend of 41 years, who is an advisor to the campaign.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations said Giuliani should drop King over his “extremist and Islamophobic views and comments.”

King had said there were “too many mosques in this country, there’s too many people who are sympathetic to radical Islam.” Later he said he didn’t think there were too many mosques but that too many were influenced by Islamic extremists.
