From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The City Council voted Tuesday to support state legislation that would require fast-food outlets with more than 15 locations to post nutritional information on menus and menu boards.

The bill, SB120 by Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Pacoima), would require that menus include the amount of calories, saturated fat, trans fat, carbohydrates and sodium in each food item. Only the amount of calories would appear on menu boards.

Both the Assembly and Senate have passed the bill, which Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has until Oct. 14 to sign or veto.
