Deputies raid 40-acre pot farm

Sheriff’s deputies raided one of the biggest marijuana farms ever found in the San Bernardino Mountains, removing at least 30,000 plants growing on more than 40 acres.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Tiffany Swantek said deputies spent Thursday and Friday removing plants from a remote canyon. Authorities arrested five Mexican nationals and believe four other farmers escaped, she said.
