Man fatally shot in gang incident
A man was killed late Friday in a gang-related shooting, authorities said Saturday.
Homicide detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were investigating the vehicle-to-vehicle shooting that occurred about 11:40 p.m. in the 4100 block of Durfee Avenue, Deputy Oscar Butao said.
Jackie Vargas, 31, of El Monte was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, Butao said.
Authorities were searching for two men in a white Ford F-150 pickup.
