Man, 25, shot in Bentley dies
The driver of a Bentley who was repeatedly shot last week on a Los Angeles freeway has died, officials said Monday.
Jose Luis Macias was driving Friday on the 101 near downtown when one or more gunmen left at least 10 bullet holes in his luxury car. Police Officer Karen Smith said the 25-year-old died from his wounds two days later.
Det. Wallace Tennelli said that investigators know little about Macias and have no motive for the shooting. He would not say whether there are any suspects.
Macias was pulled from the Bentley on Friday morning in a crime that baffled investigators and snarled traffic more than eight hours. The 2008 Bentley was found jammed against a highway median after the shooting.
