Woman dies after car is hit by train
A woman died Monday night after her four-door sedan was struck by a freight train, police said.
The woman was crossing the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks at Lakeview Avenue when her car became disabled on the tracks, Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez said.
A bystander tried to assist her but was unable to help her out of the approaching train’s path.
After the train struck the car, the bystander pulled the injured woman from her vehicle, Martinez said.
Police were called to the scene at 5:50 p.m. Paramedics took the woman to a hospital, where she died.
