Daniel Sedin scored twice as the Vancouver Canucks rallied from an early deficit and then held on to beat the Ducks, 4-3, on Monday night.

The Canucks led by three midway through the third period only to see the Ducks close the deficit on late goals by Scott Niedermayer and Samuel Pahlsson.

The Ducks threatened in the closing stages, pulling their goalie for the extra attacker, but failed to tie the score against Vancouver’s Curtis Sanford.

The Ducks opened the scoring four minutes into the first period as Bobby Ryan, replacing the injured Teemu Selanne on the first power-play unit, took a feed from Ryan Getzlaf and slipped the puck past Sanford for his fifth goal of the season.

Vancouver tied it 13 minutes into the period and then took the lead four minutes later, both goals coming on the power play.

Mason Raymond drew the Canucks even when he scooped up a rebound and flicked the puck over the left arm of Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller for his eighth goal.

Vancouver went ahead when Ryan Kesler emerged from a goalmouth scramble to chip the loose puck off the skate of defenseman Chris Pronger and through the legs of Hiller for his eighth goal.

Vancouver made it 3-1 early in the third period when Sedin deflected Rob Davison’s shot from the point past Hiller.

Sedin appeared to put the game away early in the final period when Ducks rookie defenseman Brett Festerling lost the puck at center ice, allowing Sedin to streak in alone on Hiller. Sedin, who leads the Canucks in scoring, beat Hiller to the top corner for his 17th goal.
