Ducks get mad, win

Cam Janssen’s crunching hit on Ducks defenseman Kent Huskins in the third period drew the ire of the Ducks, and they went on to beat the Blues, 4-3, on Sunday night to end a three-game losing streak.

Ducks enforcer George Parros tried to fight Janssen, but Janssen didn’t oblige, and Parros got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that led to a St. Louis power-play goal.

But the Ducks rallied, getting the tying goal from Steve Montador, then the winner from Bobby Ryan on a power play with 7:11 to play.

“I didn’t have any problem with the hit, but the fake of the dropping of the gloves for a player of that stature and his job,” Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. “Think about it. What would your answer be to it.

“Really, I think what happened was after the penalty to George, on the Janssen incident, we got emotionally involved in the game. That was the difference. If he [Janssen] thinks he did the right thing, well, he just stirred our group.”

Scott Niedermayer had a goal and an assist, Rob Niedermayer also scored, Ryan Getzlaf had two assists, and Jonas Hiller made 27 saves for Anaheim. It was the Ducks’ fourth consecutive 4-3 finish.
