Put UCLA films on DVDs

KENNETH TURAN’S “Back When Hollywood Played It Fast and Sassy” [Jan. 27] was a delight! Old films preserved at UCLA to be shown again!
This extensive catalog held by the university should be available to the general public, not only at screenings, but also provided on DVD. In my case, residing in Pasadena, to attend any activity (preparation for the journey, travel -- about one hour, on a good day), parking and the general inconvenience demands we have a venue on the “eastern outskirts.”
Pasadena had the Raymond Theater, currently being converted to residential; we fought to preserve it for screening.
Providing DVDs to starved film buffs would generate revenue for UCLA and eliminate some greenhouse gases (a valid selling point, eh?).
