Grammy weekend, one of the biggest party times of the year in Los Angeles, officially begins tonight with the Fourth Annual Peapod Foundation Benefit concert at the Avalon. Common, Ne-Yo and the Roots are just a few of the artists performing. . . . Also tonight, cable channel Fuse’s bash at new Hollywood venue Goa features Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz (DJ set), followed by a performance from Panic at the Disco. . . . And In Style magazine is having its first Grammy party, a Grammy Salute to Fashion, with famed Minneapolis music man Jimmy Jam hosting. The event, tonight at Boulevard 3, will feature a fashion show spotlighting musician-led couture lines by the likes of Sean Combs (Sean John), Jay-Z (Rocawear) and Jennifer Lopez (Sweetface). Multiple Grammy nominee Rihanna is scheduled to perform at the private event. . . . On Friday night, People magazine is throwing a bash at the Avalon honoring Timbaland (pictured). Performances at the invite-only event are expected from Chris Cornell, OneRepublic, Taylor Swift and others. . . . Also on Friday, one party that you won’t have to be “on the list” for is Crash Mansion’s unofficial Grammy event: a live version of the monthly Kiss & Grind party, featuring the Brand New Heavies (with N’Dea Davenport), Caron Wheeler (from Soul II Soul) and Grammy-nominated singer Vikter Duplaix. Gary Dourdan (“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”) will host. . . . Saturday night, of course, is the most star-studded party of them all: Clive Davis’ annual to-do at the Beverly Hills Hotel. This year, regular A-listers like Alicia Keys will have more room to schmooze, thanks to the new Bar Nineteen 12 inside the famed hotel. . . . Grammy night Sunday will feature several post-show parties, including Sony/BMG’s bash (also at the Beverly Hills Hotel), Warner Brothers’ party (at Vibiana downtown) and EW’s party at STK honoring L.A. Reid.
