Aftermath of gun violence
Re “Shootout in the Valley: A ‘passionate’ officer; gunman was ‘no angel,’ ” Feb. 8
The alleged gunman at the core of this tragedy was a grown man who, according to The Times, “had trouble with English in school,” “got into fistfights,” “dropped out of school,” “would space out sometimes,” “was no angel” and spent his time “watching TV, playing video games and shooting the breeze with friends who came by to shoot baskets and drink beer.”
Sounds like a recipe for tragedy to me.

Re “6 killed at city meeting in Missouri,” Feb. 8
A family of four and a Los Angeles police officer shot dead in Winnetka; five people killed at a city council meeting in Kirkwood, Mo. No worries, these are just more examples that guns don’t kill people.
