Arrest warrant is issued for teacher
An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for a Huntington Park teacher accused of killing his estranged wife last week in Monterey Park.
Aaron Leonel Raigoza, 34, has not been seen since Ana Maria Acosta, 32, was shot to death Feb. 4 while in her rental car.
The felony complaint filed by the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office charged Raigoza with murder and included the special circumstance of lying in wait.
The couple were in the process of getting a divorce.
The district attorney’s office will decide later whether to seek the death penalty against Raigoza, a teacher at the City of Angels School in Huntington Park until he disappeared.
Raigoza also was charged with one count of assault with a firearm for allegedly pointing a gun at a man.
