Syracuse may be down. Don’t count the Orange out just yet, though.

Paul Harris scored 22 points and freshman Donte Greene added 18 to lead Syracuse to a 77-70 victory over No. 8 Georgetown on Saturday in front of 31,327 at the Carrier Dome, the largest on-campus attendance in the nation this season.

The win keeps alive the Orange’s postseason hopes with only five games remaining in the regular season.

Syracuse (17-9 overall, 7-6 Big East), coming off a surprising loss at South Florida, built a 21-point lead in the first half and withstood two late rallies by the Hoyas (20-4, 10-3).

The win also served as a measure of revenge for Syracuse, which blew a seven-point lead in the final five minutes of regulation and lost in overtime at Georgetown last month.

No. 13 Indiana 80, No. 10 Michigan State 61 -- With Coach Kelvin Sampson’s job status in question after he was accused of five major NCAA infractions Wednesday, the Hoosiers (21-4, 10-2) needed a victory over the Spartans (20-5, 8-4) to stay in contention for the Big Ten title. The home team won for the seventh consecutive time in the series.

Mike Gordon broke Mike Woodson’s school scoring record for freshmen -- 500 points set in 1976-77 -- late in the first half. He now has 520.

Oklahoma State 59, No. 16 Texas A&M; 54 -- Byron Eaton’s two free throws with nine seconds left helped the Cowboys (13-12, 4-7 Big 12) end a 19-game road losing streak and stop a five-game winning streak for the Aggies (20-5, 6-4).

No. 17 Connecticut 74, South Florida 73 (OT) -- Craig Austrie dribbled nearly the length of the court, drove the lane and made a 14-foot runner with six seconds left at Tampa, Fla., to give the Huskies (20-5, 9-3 Big East) their ninth win in a row. The Bulls (11-15, 2-11) lost for the 11th time in 12 games.
