Ottawa 4, at Pittsburgh 3: Daniel Alfredsson scored on a backhander with 3.2 seconds remaining in overtime and the Senators rallied from three goals down to defeat the Penguins. Pittsburgh’s Evgeni Malkin, the NHL’s scoring leader, ended his 10-game scoring streak.

Dallas 6, at Nashville 3: Mike Ribeiro had two goals and two assists in the Stars’ victory. Loui Eriksson also had two goals for Dallas, winners of 11 of 13. Ville Koistinen, J.P. Dumont and Ryan Suter scored for Nashville, losers of two in a row.

at Carolina 6, Washington 3: Matt Cullen scored twice and Eric Staal had the go-ahead goal late in the second period to help the Hurricanes win at home for the sixth time in seven games. Mike Green, Alexander Semin and Brooks Laich scored goals for the Capitals, who led, 2-1, after the first period before the Hurricanes pushed ahead for good.

Florida 2, at Philadelphia 1: Jay Bouwmeester tied the score with 3.7 seconds left in regulation and Oli Jokinen scored the winner as the Panthers handed the Flyers their 10th consecutive loss, matching a franchise record. The Flyers are 0-8-2 in their last 10 games, matching a franchise-worst 10-game winless mark they suffered last season when they were the worst team in the NHL. Daniel Briere scored Philadelphia’s goal.

at New Jersey 4, N.Y. Islanders 2: Zach Parise’s 25th goal broke a third-period tie and gave the Devils their first victory of the season against the Islanders. New Jersey had lost six in a row to the Islanders, whose six-game winning ended.

Columbus 3, at Montreal 0: Pascal Leclaire made 30 saves for his ninth shutout and Rick Nash and Andrew Murray scored first-period goals to lead the Blue Jackets to victory. Leclaire increased his league lead in shutouts over the New York Rangers’ Henrik Lundqvist, who has seven.

N.Y. Rangers 4, at Buffalo 3: Sean Avery scored with 5:05 remaining, lifting the Rangers past the Sabres in a game between teams battling for playoff contention. The Sabres have lost three in a row to the Rangers.

Boston 5, Tampa Bay 3: Glen Murray had two goals in the Bruins’ victory. The Lightning has lost four in a row.

at Toronto 3, Atlanta 1: Alex Steen and Nik Antropov had third-period goals for the Maple Leafs.

at Vancouver 4, Detroit 1: Ryan Kesler scored twice on individual rushes in the third period and Roberto Luongo stopped 28 shots for the Canucks in a win over the injury-ravaged Red Wings.

Chicago 6, Kings 5 (OT): Patrick Sharp scored his second goal 1:48 into overtime and the Blackhawks won after blowing a four-goal lead in the third period.
