* at Boston 87, Minnesota 86: In his first regular-season game against his former team, Kevin Garnett poked the ball away from Sebastian Telfair in the final seconds to preserve the victory. He finished with 10 points and 16 rebounds despite leaving the game for four minutes late in the fourth quarter because of an abdominal strain.

* at Detroit 101, Orlando 93: The Central Division-leading Pistons were dominant in the first half, setting up their second consecutive win after losing a season-high three in a row -- including a loss at Orlando -- and six of nine. Richard Hamilton, who finished with 32 points, scored 14 of Detroit’s 29 points in the second quarter, helping the Pistons score a season-high 68 points in the first half.

* at Toronto 106, Milwaukee 75: Leading 57-51, the Raptors broke the game open late in the third quarter with a 19-0 run, their biggest of the season. Toronto’s previous best was an 18-0 run on Nov. 2 at New Jersey.

* at Washington 104, Memphis 93: The Wizards rebounded from their worst defeat in more than six years. Washington, which lost to Cleveland, 121-85, on Wednesday, held the Grizzlies to nine points in the first quarter -- the fewest points it has ever allowed in a first quarter. The Grizzlies played without forward Pau Gasol, who has a sore back.

* at New York 89, Philadelphia 81: The 76ers were trying to win five in a row against the Knicks for the first time since winning seven in a row from Oct. 26, 1985, to Nov. 19, 1986.

* Charlotte 90, at Chicago 77: The Bobcats used a 15-4 run late in the fourth quarter to pull away. The Bulls played without their top two scorers, Ben Gordon (wrist) and Luol Deng (Achilles’ tendinitis).

* at Denver 100, New Jersey 85: The Nets have lost eight in a row, their longest skid in more than three years, and dropped the first five games on a six-game trip that now heads to Minnesota. The Nuggets played a second consecutive game without All-Star starter Carmelo Anthony, who sprained his right ankle last Monday against the Lakers.

* at Utah 127, Sacramento 113: Carlos Boozer made his first 13 shots and finished with 33 points to lead the Jazz, which improved to 2-1 against the Kings and for the first time since 2000 won’t lose the season series.

* Houston 89, at Portland 79: The Rockets ended the Trail Blazers’ 12-game winning streak at the Rose Garden. Portland had its lowest scoring third quarter (12), lowest scoring second half (29) and lowest shooting percentage (35.7) of the season.

* Atlanta 99, at Seattle 90: Marvin Williams scored a career-high 33 points to help the Hawks extend the SuperSonics’ losing streak to a franchise-record tying 13 games.

* Phoenix 110, at Cleveland 108: Shawn Marion made his only basket of the game with 1.1 seconds left to win it.

* at New Orleans 111, Clippers 92: The Clippers didn’t recover from a 22-2 third-quarter run by the Hornets.

* at Dallas 112, Lakers 105: Kobe Bryant scored 14 of the Lakers’ final 16 points, including the last 10.
