Holiday closures
Friday is Independence Day. The following schedules will be in effect:
* Government: All city, county, state and federal offices and courts will be closed.
* Mail: No delivery; post offices will be closed.
* Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed.
* Libraries: Most will be closed.
* Schools: Public campuses will be closed.
* Public transit: MTA buses and Metro Rail lines will operate on a Sunday schedule. Metrolink trains will be idle.
* Trash collection: The city of Los Angeles will delay pickup by one day because of the holiday.
