at New York 12, Kansas City 11: Johnny Damon went six for six, including the game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth inning. With two out, Wilson Betemit walked and Melky Cabrera reached on an infield single. Damon pulled a 3-and-1 pitch into the right-field corner. The Royals’ Jose Guillen hit a grand slam and matched a franchise record with seven RBIs.

Baltimore 9, at Toronto 5: A.J. Burnett (5-6) had been 5-0 in six starts against the Orioles but was booed off the mound during a five-run fifth inning. He gave up a season-high eight runs in 4 1/3 innings and mockingly doffed his cap to the crowd as he walked off after being replaced by Brian Wolfe. Burnett later apologized, saying it was “uncalled for . . . Obviously, from what we all saw, they had every right to boo.”

at Boston 11, Seattle 3: Manny Ramirez hit his 504th homer, a two-run drive over the Green Monster seats that tied Eddie Murray for 23rd on the career list.

at Detroit 8, Cleveland 4: Edgar Renteria’s grand slam keyed a six-run eighth inning and the Tigers ended a four-game losing streak.

Tampa Bay 5, at Texas 4: Willy Aybar hit a tiebreaking, two-run double with the bases loaded in the eighth inning. The Rangers’ Milton Bradley, batting .338, hit a home run -- his sixth in the last seven games.

at Chicago 11, Minnesota 2: Joe Crede hit two homers for the second game in a row and had six RBIs.

Angels 5, at Oakland 3: Maicer Izturis hit a leadoff homer for the second game in a row.
