* Philadelphia 6, at Atlanta 3: Ryan Howard drove in two runs in the ninth inning with his third double of the game and the Phillies completed a three-game sweep. Howard finished three for five with four RBIs.

* at San Diego 8, New York 6: Pinch-hitter Tony Clark connected for a go-ahead, three-run homer against Billy Wagner with two out in the eighth inning to give the Padres a four-game sweep of the Mets.

* St. Louis 5, at Houston 4: Brendan Ryan hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to cap a Cardinals comeback fueled by two Astros errors. Kyle Lohse (7-2) pitched six innings to beat Houston for the third time this season.

* San Francisco 6, at Washington 3: Barry Zito (2-9) earned his second win after an 0-8 start and Ray Durham finished with four hits for the Giants. Zito (2-9) gave up three runs and seven hits in five innings.

* at Pittsburgh 6, Arizona 4: Jason Bay’s two-run double completed the Pirates’ five-run fourth inning, and the Pirates shook off Mark Reynolds’ two home runs to beat the Diamondbacks.

* Milwaukee 3, at Colorado 2: Jeff Suppan (4-4) and three relievers limited the Rockies to six hits as the Brewers ended a six-game losing streak at Coors Field. Suppan improved to 6-1 against Colorado.

* at Florida 9, Cincinnati 2: Ken Griffey Jr. stayed one home run shy of 600 in the Reds’ loss.

* Chicago 3, at Dodgers 1: The Cubs avoided their first three-game losing streak and finished a trip 4-3.
