* at Colorado 10, San Francisco 5: Aaron Cook (9-3) threw seven efficient innings, Todd Helton hit a three-run homer and the Rockies ended the Giants’ seven-game road winning streak. The weary Giants didn’t arrive into the Mile High City until 3 a.m. after sweeping the Nationals in a four-game series in Washington. San Francisco’s Ray Durham remains three hits shy of 2,000 for his career.
* Arizona 9, at New York 5: Chris Snyder hit a tiebreaking homer in the eighth off Joe Smith. The Mets squandered a 5-1 cushion and dropped to 30-33, matching a season worst at three games below .500.
* at Chicago 10, Atlanta 5: The Cubs improved to 27-8 at Wrigley Field. The Braves are a major league-worst 7-22 on the road and have lost four in a row overall.
* at Houston 6, Milwaukee 1: Lance Berkman homered and hit a three-run triple and Roy Oswalt (5-6) got his first win in almost a month.
* Washington 7, at Pittsburgh 6: Lastings Milledge hit a two-run homer with two out in the ninth. Ryan Doumit went four for four with two home runs, three runs and three runs batted in for the Pirates.
* St. Louis 7, at Cincinnati 2: Ryan Ludwick homered and drove in four runs. Reds right fielder Ken Griffey Jr. was hitless in three at-bats in his first home game since hitting his 600th home run Monday in Florida.
* at Florida 5, Philadelphia 4: Jorge Cantu hit a two-run homer in the first and Mike Jacobs added a two-run shot in the fifth.
* Dodgers 7, at San Diego 2: Russell Martin and Matt Kemp drove in two runs each in a four-run seventh inning.
