* at Detroit 116, Chicago 109: Chauncey Billups matched a season high with 34 points, Richard Hamilton scored 23 and the Pistons clinched their seventh straight playoff berth. The Pistons also ended a five-game losing streak against Chicago and prevented the Bulls from sweeping the four-game season series for the first time since 1995-96.

* Philadelphia 119, at Milwaukee 97: The 76ers ended any doubt with a 13-4 run while leading by 14 points to win their fourth in a row and move within half a game of idle sixth-place Washington in the Eastern Conference. Thaddeus Young scored 22 points for the 76ers.

* at Toronto 114, Seattle 106: The Raptors took control with a 35-21 third quarter but allowed the SuperSonics to get within five points in the final quarter before pulling away for good. Anthony Parker scored 23 points to lead six Raptors in double figures.

* at Phoenix 94, San Antonio 87: The Suns displayed an unusually feisty defense until the end, outscoring the Spurs, 14-2, in the final 3:40 to improve to 4-6 with Shaquille O’Neal. San Antonio shot 38% in losing its second in a row since an 11-game winning streak.

* Sacramento 114, at Lakers 113: The Kings got their first victory against a Pacific Division opponent in 10 games.
