Authorities say two people have been killed in two apparently unrelated shootings.

The first was reported at 9:50 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of West Alondra Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Oscar Butao.

Witnesses said four men approached a car in which two women were sitting with a child and words were exchanged, Butao said. One of the men then opened fire before the men fled. One woman was killed and the other was wounded. Investigators have not released either woman’s name. The child was not injured.

Deputies responded to the second shooting at 12:05 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of West Magnolia Street, where they found a man dead. The man’s identity has not yet been released.
