at Chicago 3, Cleveland 1: Carlos Quentin hit a tiebreaking single in the eighth inning to lift the White Sox to their eighth straight victory. Quentin had two RBIs and Jermaine Dye had a run-scoring single in the eighth to complete a three-game sweep of the Indians, who have scored only 13 runs during their six-game losing streak.

at Detroit 9, Seattle 2: Brandon Inge and Matt Joyce homered to help the Tigers continue their offensive resurgence by completing their first three-game sweep of the Mariners since 1995. After scoring 14 runs in their previous seven games -- six of them losses -- the Tigers scored 30 in the series against Seattle.

Texas 8, at Minnesota 7 (10 innings): Josh Hamilton continued his torrid start as a Ranger by hitting a two-out home run in the 10th inning. Hamilton, acquired in the off-season from Cincinnati, is hitting a league-best .335, has an AL-leading 12 home runs along with Chicago’s Carlos Quentin and has a major-league leading 53 RBIs.

at New York 2, Baltimore 1: Robinson Cano singled home the winning run with two outs in the ninth inning and the Yankees, moments after Manager Joe Girardi was ejected during a theatrical argument, won. at Boston 11, Kansas City 8: The Red Sox got grand slams from J.D. Drew and Mike Lowell to finish a four-game sweep of the Royals after taking three from Milwaukee over the weekend. Manny Ramirez remained two home runs shy of becoming the 24th player to hit 500.

at Toronto 4, Angels 3: Lyle Overbay hit a go-ahead solo homer, A.J. Burnett won back-to-back starts for the first time and the Blue Jays avoided a three-game sweep.
