Update -- San Jose, the defending ArenaBowl champion, has won three games in a row and five of its last six to move into first place in the Western Division. The SaberCats hold a 3 1/2 -game lead over the Avengers, who lost at San Jose, 70-42, on April 26. The Avengers are fifth in the American Conference but have lost two games in a row and four of their last five. Only Utah has given up more points this season than the Avengers, who have given up 753 points in 12 games. Although quarterbacks Sonny Cumbie and Tim Hicks have struggled with consistency for the Avengers, wide receiver Timon Marshall is having a banner season with 78 catches for 1,057 yards and 14 touchdowns.
