at No. 7 Penn State 34, Indiana 7: Derrick Williams ran for one score and caught a touchdown pass, Daryll Clark threw for 240 yards and two scores in an uneven outing, and a stifling defense for the Nittany Lions (10-1, 6-1) held the Hoosiers (3-8, 1-6) to six first downs at State College. Deon Butler finished with 56 yards in five catches for Penn State to break the school’s career reception record of 167, previously held by Bobby Engram.

Northwestern 21, at Michigan 14: C.J. Bacher threw touchdown passes on his first two drives of the second half at Ann Arbor to lift the Wildcats (8-3, 4-3) over the Wolverines (3-8, 2-5), who lost eight games for the first time in the storied program’s 129-year history. A school-record five of Michigan’s losses have come at home in Coach Rich Rodriguez’s debut season.

at Iowa 22, Purdue 17: Shonn Greene ran for 211 yards and two scores for the Hawkeyes (7-4, 4-3), and a Hail Mary pass by the Boilermakers (3-8, 1-6) sailed long to preserve the victory at Iowa City. The Boilermakers could not find a way to stop Greene’s slashing runs, including a 75-yard dash in the second quarter.

at Wisconsin 35, Minnesota 32: The Badgers (6-5, 3-5) capped a second-half rally with a pair of safeties and a touchdown off a turnover in the fourth quarter, beating the mistake-prone Golden Gophers (7-4, 3-4) at Madison.
