Though two of our four Heisman Trophy candidates had the day off Saturday, the two who did play did plenty -- passing and running:

COLT McCOY, junior quarterback, Texas: “Colt played one of the toughest, grittiest games he has played since he has been at Texas,” Longhorns Coach Mack Brown said. McCoy’s two touchdown passes against Kansas gave the quarterback 31 this season, breaking his own school record set in 2006. He also had a touchdown running and, more important, his 30-7 record as a starter tied him with Vince Young for the school record for career victories at quarterback. Stats: 24 of 34 passing for 255 yards and two touchdowns; 16 carries for 78 yards and one touchdown.

GRAHAM HARRELL, senior quarterback, Texas Tech: Idle.

SAM BRADFORD, sophomore quarterback, Oklahoma: Idle.

TIM TEBOW, junior quarterback, Florida: Tebow’s Heisman stock is rising, and it isn’t because he said he might vote for himself. He accounted for three more touchdowns -- two passing and one running -- in Florida’s 56-6 win over South Carolina and since the Gators’ loss to Mississippi on Sept. 27, Tebow has completed nearly 70% of his passes for 1,105 yards and 13 touchdowns without an interception. Stats: 13 of 20 passing for 173 yards and two touchdowns; 39 yards rushing and one touchdown in 14 carries.

MICHAEL CRABTREE, sophomore wide receiver, Texas Tech: Idle.

DEZ BRYANT, sophomore wide receiver, Oklahoma State: Stats: four catches for 82 yards and one touchdown.
