In Mountain West Conference games: Brian Johnson kept No. 8 Utah (11-0, 7-0) on a BCS-busting course by throwing a career-high five touchdown passes in a 63-14 win against host San Diego State (1-10, 0-7). The Utes, who clinched at least a share of the conference title, will try to finish the regular season undefeated when they host Brigham Young next Saturday. San Diego State lost 10 games in a season for the first time. . . . Max Hall threw for 354 yards and two touchdowns to lead No. 16 Brigham Young (10-1, 6-1) to a 38-24 win over Air Force (8-3, 5-2) at Air Force Academy, Colo. . . . In Western Athletic Conference games: Jeremy Avery rushed for a career-high 156 yards and two touchdowns to help No. 9 Boise State (10-0, 6-0) keep alive its hopes of returning to a BCS bowl with a 45-10 win over host Idaho (2-9, 1-6) at Moscow. Boise, which had 525 yards in offense, clinched at least a share of its sixth conference title in seven years. . . . Tom Brandstater ran for two touchdowns, including the game-winner in the fourth quarter, to lead Fresno State (6-4, 3-3) to a 24-17 win over visiting New Mexico State (3-7, 1-5). . . .
