Boy, 16, killed in drive-by shooting
A 16-year-old Roosevelt High School student was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting that took place off-campus, police said Tuesday.
The boy, who was not immediately identified, was walking in the 3200 block of 8th Street when several people in a four-door sedan drove up, confronted him and began firing, said Officer Julianne Sohn of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim was struck several times. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later was pronounced dead.
