State probes Google- Yahoo deal

California Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown said he was reviewing documents on Google Inc.’s planned partnership with Yahoo Inc. after a state lawmaker asked him to examine whether the deal would hurt competition in Web advertising.
The review was disclosed in a letter from Brown’s office to Assemblyman Joel Anderson (R-San Diego). Eleven state attorneys general are examining the partnership. The U.S. Justice Department also is scrutinizing the deal.
