Teen is shot dead near high school
A teenage boy was fatally shot near Santa Ana High School on Wednesday in what detectives suspect was a gang-related attack, the Santa Ana Police Department said.
The victim’s name and age were not released. The shooting occurred at 3:10 p.m. The boy was struck in the upper body, said Santa Ana Police Sgt. Ernesto Conde. The boy was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead at 4:48 p.m.
He said no one else was hurt in the shooting, which occurred in the 200 block of South Flower Street, and no arrests had been made.
