* at New York 13, Washington 10: David Wright hit a two-run home run and tied a career high with four hits, helping the Mets put away the Nationals after blowing a six-run lead. Carlos Delgado, whose streak of multihomer games ended at two, hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the seventh inning and Jose Reyes swiped a bag to became the Mets’ career leader for steals.

* at Houston 7, Pittsburgh 4: Miguel Tejada’s grand slam broke open a close game in the sixth inning and helped the Astros win for the 13th time in 14 games. Houston, which has won five in a row, is 12 games over .500 for the first time since the end of the 2005 season, when it finished 16 games over .500.

* Chicago 4, at St. Louis 3: Ted Lilly pitched eight sharp innings and the Cubs capitalized on shaky fielding by backup third baseman Felipe Lopez, who replaced the injured Troy Glaus. Lopez made a fielding error and throwing error on consecutive plays in the second inning, helping the Cubs score four runs.

* Florida 7, at Philadelphia 3: Ricky Nolasco struck out eight batters in 7 2/3 innings and Luis Gonzalez homered for the Marlins. Josh Willingham ended a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring double in the eighth. Ryan Howard hit his major league-leading 42nd homer for the Phillies.

* at Milwaukee 4, Cincinnati 3: Mike Cameron singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and the Brewers avoided a three-game sweep. Milwaukee scored 28 runs during a 3-7 homestand.

* at San Francisco 4, Arizona 3: The Giants won their fifth consecutive game and dropped the Diamondbacks (71-74) three games below .500.

* Dodgers 7, at Padres 2: Manny Ramirez homered twice and the Dodgers increased their division lead to 3 1/2 games.
