‘Falling Down’ captured L.A.

ILIKE the challenge of identifying the 25 best L.A. films [“The 25 Best L.A. Films of the Last 25 Years,” Aug. 31]. I agree with most of your selections. However, I am surprised that “Falling Down” didn’t make the list, let alone the top five.
I have always thought that this film captures the pains of the city as it transitions from the Anglo-aerospace capital of the world to the capital of the Third World.
This film provides insights into the city during one of its darkest periods.
