at Virginia Tech 20, Georgia Tech 17: Tyrod Taylor and Darren Evans each ran for a touchdown, the Hokies (2-1, 1-0) put together a late scoring drive, the defense forced three turnovers and then held on at Blacksburg. The Hokies drove 76 yards for the winning 21-yard field goal by Dustin Keys after the Yellow Jackets (2-1, 1-1) tied it at 17 with 9:28 to play. The drive was helped by two 15-yard personal foul penalties against Georgia Tech.

at Florida State 46, Chattanooga 7: Christian Ponder threw three first-half touchdown passes at Tallahassee, as the Seminoles (2-0) wrapped up the soft part of their schedule and Coach Bobby Bowden stayed even with Penn State’s Joe Paterno by picking up career win No. 375. After beating lower-division Western Carolina and Chattanooga, the Seminoles face Wake Forest and Colorado before taking on Miami.

at Duke 41, Navy 31: Thad Lewis threw three touchdown passes to Eron Riley and Vincent Rey returned a fumble for a score at Durham, N.C., helping the Blue Devils end a four-game losing streak to the Midshipmen. With a 2-1 record under new Coach David Cutliffe, Duke has matched its victory total of the last three seasons combined. Lewis threw for 317 yards while running for 41 more, and Riley finished with eight catches for 137 yards.

at Clemson 27, North Carolina State 9: Cullen Harper overcame several mistakes and threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns. Harper, who threw an interception for a touchdown on the opening play, fumbled in the second half and missed a few open receivers, ended up completing 20 of 28 passes. Jacoby Ford caught six passes for 106 yards for the Tigers (2-1) in the ACC opener for both teams. The Wolfpack (1-2) leaves the state of South Carolina without scoring an offensive touchdown after being shut out, 34-0, to open the season at South Carolina.
