Council votes to fire city manager
The city manager has been fired by the City Council after a two-month controversy over his viewing of websites on a city computer, including one showing pictures of actress Pamela Anderson.
David Garcia, 53, had been on the $225,000-a-year job for 15 months before the council voted 4 to 1 on Tuesday night to fire him. He was considered a leading force in trying to persuade the San Diego Chargers to move to the city.
