Treanor will watch this show faithfully
It has been a long, fruitless season for Florida Marlins catcher Matt Treanor.
And it hasn’t helped that his beach volleyball-playing wife has become a star, thrown into the rumor mill.
For example, when Misty May-Treanor rekindled her friendship with NBA star Jason Kidd at the Beijing Olympics, bloggers took notice and Treanor reportedly became jealous.
Now his wife is paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy in “Dancing with the Stars”, which premieres Monday.
Writes Mike Berardino of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel: “Although he hails from Ukraine, he bears no resemblance to any of Borat’s cousins. In fact, the 28-year-old is so male-model perfect, you can find him on websites such as Hunkdujour.com.”

UCLA will be back in action today, presumably fresh after hibernating last week against Brigham Young.

Fan steals spotlight
A drunken baseball fan at New York’s Shea Stadium became a YouTube celebrity by falling asleep in his box seat.
In the 10-minute video, he’s seen with a half-empty beer in his hand and an upside down cup on his head. Then fans begin stacking cups on his head while others laugh hysterically and snap photos.
Title of the video: “The most triumphant moment in the history of Shea Stadium.”
Jeremy who?
New Orleans Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey was asked by ESPN The Magazine about sitting out last year’s Super Bowl with a broken leg and watching his former team, the New York Giants, win without him.
His response: “It’s like how every year you get older and fewer and fewer people realize it’s your birthday. It’s supposed to be your special day, and you’re not being noticed.”
