A 21-year-old man wanted in connection with a series of taco truck robberies in the area surrendered to authorities Friday.

Perez will be booked on suspicion of robbery, said Sgt. Thomas Looney of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Perez’s surrender comes just a day after sheriff’s detectives announced him as a fifth suspect in an investigation of a series of taco truck robberies.

Sheriff’s detectives said Perez and four other members of the Fearless Kings tagger crew, which authorities have designated a gang because of the thefts, were identified by witnesses.

The robberies occurred along major thoroughfares between April 5 and June 27, investigators said. Authorities said most of the thefts occurred late in the evening along Olympic Boulevard, Cesar Chavez Avenue and Whittier Boulevard.
