Re “A sentence, and hopes, are lifted in ’83 killing,” Aug. 8
Congratulations to The Times for getting ahold of a great story -- the wrongful imprisonment of Bruce Lisker -- and not giving up on it. I have collected every article on the topic since 2005.
With all the evidence that indicates Lisker’s mother was murdered by another person -- including proof that LAPD detectives concealed important aspects of the case and jurors and a prosecutor who changed their mind after seeing the new information -- isn’t it time this inmate be given his life back?
Taxpayers will not benefit by retrying Lisker. The only new trial should be for those who perpetrated the charade.
