Walk-off slam lifts Rockies past Giants
Ryan Spilborghs hit a dramatic walk-off grand slam with one out in the bottom of the 14th inning to lead the Colorado Rockies to a 6-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants.
The Giants had scored three times in the top of the 14th to take a 4-1 lead thanks to a two-run triple by Eugenio Velez and a grounder by Juan Uribe.
Dexter Fowler opened the bottom of the 14th with a walk, and after an out, Jim Miller replaced Brandon Medders on the mound for the Giants. Miller loaded the bases on a single and a walk, and the Rockies, out of position players, were forced to let pitcher Adam Eaton bat. He walked on five pitches, setting the stage for Spilborghs.
