Loyola Marymount outlasts Long Beach State, 85-80, in overtime.

at Loyola Marymount 85, Long Beach State 80 (OT): Vernon Teel scored with 1 minute 12 seconds left in overtime and the Lions (6-7) made five of six free throws in the last 30 seconds to secure the victory. Drew Viney led the Lions with 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Teel finished with 15 points and a game-high eight assists. T.J. Robinson had 22 points and 18 rebounds for the 49ers (6-5). The score was tied 10 times and there were 14 lead changes, including three in overtime.

at UC Irvine 74, Pepperdine 61: Eric Wise, who finished a game-high 23 points, scored 12 consecutive points that turned a 53-50 lead for the Anteaters (6-5) into a 65-59 lead with 2:20 to play. Michael Hunter scored 16 points for Irvine. Mychel Thompson led the Waves (3-10) with 16 points and Dane Suttle Jr. had 15. The Waves took a 45-37 lead on Taylor Darby’s basket at 18:18 of the second half but then Wise took over.

at Southern Utah 76, UC Riverside 65: Kyle Austin had 21 points and 14 rebounds for the Highlanders (6-5), who outscored the Thunderbirds (4-8) in the paint, 34-16, but couldn’t overcome Southern Utah’s 10-for-20 shooting from three-point range. Riverside made only 12 of 27 (44.4%) free throws.

Weber State 82, Cal State Fullerton 71: Jacques Streeter scored 21 points for the Titans (4-4), who squandered a halftime lead in the Basketball Travelers Invitational at Utah State. Damian Lillard scored 20 points for the Wildcats (6-5).

at Arizona State 69, UC Santa Barbara 42: Orlando Johnson scored 16 points for the Gauchos (4-4), who have lost four games in a row. Derek Glasser had seven assists to become the all-time assists leader for the Sun Devils (9-3) with 461. Rihards Kuksiks scored 24 points for the Sun Devils on a career-high eight three-point baskets.

Montana State 76, at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 72: After Lorenzo Keeler’s jumper put the Mustangs (3-7) ahead, 72-69, with three minutes to play, the Bobcats (7-4) responded with a 7-0 run that gave them their first lead and third consecutive victory.

WOMEN

at UCLA 83, St. Mary’s 58: Junior guard Darxia Morris scored a game-high 20 points and the Bruins (6-4) ended at six games the winning streak by the Gaels (9-5).
