Water agency: An article Dec. 10 in Section A about the Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency’s consideration of using chloramines to disinfect its water said the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency had mandated that the agency switch from chlorine to chloramines by October 2014. The use of chloramines, which the EPA strongly supports, is optional, not mandatory.

Jaap van Zweden: A Faces to Watch 2010 item in Sunday’s Calendar section about classical conductor Jaap van Zweden said he will make his Los Angeles Philharmonic debut April 4 conducting Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto. The concert will be April 16 and 17 and the program will be Rachmaninoff’s First Piano Concerto.

TV characters: A story in Tuesday’s Calendar about archetypal TV characters cited as one example the gay assistant and said that “it may be some time, however, before the major networks build a scripted show around an openly gay character.” In fact, it has been done, on the NBC comedy “Will & Grace.”

Eugene Zinn obituary: The obituary in Wednesday’s Section A on Eugene Zinn, who survived three years in Nazi death camps, said that his parents and two younger sisters had been sent to a Polish death camp. The camp was run by Nazis in occupied Poland during World War II.

Vietnamese documentary: An article that ran in Friday’s Section A about a documentary film being made about Vietnamese refugees misspelled Margaret Mimnaugh’s last name as Minmagh.

UCLA football: An article accompanying the game story on UCLA’s 30-21 victory over Temple in the EagleBank Bowl in Wednesday’s Sports section misspelled UCLA tailback Chane Moline’s first name as Chance. Also, in the agate summary of that game, Temple tight end Steve Maneri was credited with one reception for 26 yards and no touchdowns. Maneri scored a touchdown on that reception.
