West: Boise State, TCU remain perfect in BCS quest

at No. 6 Boise State 45, San Jose State 7: Kellen Moore threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Broncos (8-0, 3-0) over the Spartans (1-6, 0-3) in a Western Athletic Conference game. Boise State also got plenty of help from its defense, which held San Jose State to 223 total yards and forced two turnovers that led to touchdowns.

at Nevada 31, Hawaii 21: Colin Kaepernick threw two touchdown passes and rushed for a pair of scores to lead the Wolf Pack (5-3, 4-0) over the Warriors (2-6, 0-5) in a WAC game. Kaepernick passed for 184 yards and ran for 114.

at Idaho 35, Louisiana Tech 34: Running back De’Maundray Woolridge ran for a two-yard touchdown with 52 seconds left to lift the Vandals (7-2, 4-1) over the Bulldogs (3-5, 2-3) in a WAC game. On the final play, a 56-yard field-goal attempt by Matt Nelson was wide left.

at Fresno State 31, Utah State 27: Ryan Mathews rushed for 185 yards, including a 10-yard score with 4:53 left, to lead the Bulldogs (5-3, 4-1) over the Aggies (2-6, 1-3) in a WAC game.

at No. 8 Texas Christian 41, Nevada Las Vegas 0: Andy Dalton threw three touchdown passes, Ed Wesley scored running and catching the ball and the defense got its first shutout of the season as the Horned Frogs (8-0, 4-0) routed the Rebels (3-6, 1-4) in a Mountain West Conference game. TCU won its 10th consecutive game overall, and 12th in a row at home.

at No. 19 Utah 22, Wyoming 10: Freshman Jordan Wynn passed for 82 yards and a touchdown in his college debut, replacing starter Terrance Cain in the second half and rallying the Utes (7-1, 4-0) over the Cowboys (4-4, 2-2) in a Mountain West game. Eddie Wide tied a school record with his fifth straight 100-yard rushing game and had a late touchdown to secure the win for Utah, which trailed 10-3 at halftime.

Air Force 34, at Colorado State 16: Tim Jefferson threw two touchdowns passes and the Falcons (5-4, 4-2) rolled over the Rams (3-6, 0-5) in a Mountain West game.

at San Diego State 23, New Mexico 20: Ryan Lindley threw three touchdown passes to lift the Aztecs (4-4, 2-2) over the Lobos (0-8, 0-4) in a Mountain West game.

at North Dakota 31, Cal Poly SLO 17: Mitch Sutton had a five-yard touchdown run with 3:38 to go as the Sioux (4-4, 2-1) defeated the Mustangs (4-4, 1-1) in a Great West Conference game.

at Dayton 21, San Diego 14: Steve Valentino scored on a one-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter to lift the Flyers (7-1, 5-0) over the Toreros (3-5, 2-4) in a Pioneer League game.

Azusa Pacific 55, at Trinity (Texas) 27: John van den Raadt passed for 299 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 114 yards and three scores to lift the Cougars (2-8) over the Tigers (5-3).

Cal Lutheran 24, at Occidental 14: Brian Stuart rushed for 164 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead the Kingsmen (6-1, 4-0) over the Tigers (5-2, 3-1) in a key SCIAC game.

at Redlands 41, Pomona-Pitzer 14: Daylan Swedlow had three touchdown runs and Dan Selway passed for 405 yards to lift the Bulldogs (6-1, 4-1) over the Sagehens (4-3, 2-2) in a SCIAC game.

Whittier 34, at La Verne 21: Garrett Carr scored on a 53-yard run after a fake punt to lead the Poets (3-4, 1-3) over the Leopards (0-7, 0-5) in a SCIAC game.

at Chapman 13, Claremont-Mudd 9: Quarterback Blake Vanderwall passed for a touchdown and ran for one to lead the Panthers (3-4) over the Stags (3-4).
