Boise State survives road scare, 45-35

Kellen Moore threw for 354 yards and three touchdowns, and No. 5 Boise State survived a brief scare on the road with a 45-35 victory over upstart Louisiana Tech on Friday night at Ruston, La.

Louisiana Tech had pulled to within 30-28 early in the fourth quarter on Dennis Morris’ leaping catch in the corner of the end zone.

The Broncos’ defense buckled down after that for Boise State (9-0, 4-0 Western Athletic Conference) to pull away with touchdowns on consecutive drives, the second score coming on Jeremy Avery’s 44-yard touchdown run.

Bryant leaving

Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant is headed to the NFL.

Bryant told ESPN.com that he plans to make himself available for the 2010 NFL draft, disclosing his intentions after the NCAA rejected a final appeal by the school to reinstate the junior All-American who lied about contact with former NFL player Deion Sanders.

Bryant told ESPN.com that entering the draft is “the best decision for me.”

Meyer fined

Florida Coach Urban Meyer has been fined $30,000 by the Southeastern Conference for criticizing officials.

Commissioner Mike Slive announced the fine two days after Meyer said referees missed a late hit against quarterback Tim Tebow in No. 1 Florida’s 41-17 win against Georgia.

The final regular-season ballot of every voter in the USA Today college football coaches’ poll will remain public. The coaches had considered making those votes confidential. But Grant Teaff, executive director of the American Football Coaches Association, said it would stay an open ballot. . . . The Stanford Cardinal will be without top linebacker Clinton Snyder for the rest of the season because of a knee injury suffered in practice Tuesday. . . . Wake Forest quarterback Riley Skinner has been cleared to play in today’s game at No. 10 Georgia Tech after suffering a concussion last week.
