Update: The Ducks enter a four-game trip with a two-game winning streak. Goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere is on the active roster for the first time since Oct. 24 when he aggravated a strained groin muscle. Giguere figures to back up Jonas Hiller, although Giguere told reporters he doesn’t want that role anymore. Defenseman Scott Niedermayer, who won a Stanley Cup with the Devils in 2003, returns to New Jersey for the second time since joining the Ducks in 2005. New Jersey is honoring members of the 2003 team, which defeated the Ducks in the finals in seven games. Niedermayer’s brother, Rob, signed with the Devils this summer.
