Pacific 67, at Pepperdine 64 (OT): Pacific’s Lavar Neufville scored the final three points of the second overtime, lifting the Tigers to the victory. The Waves erased a 10-point deficit in the final five minutes of regulation. Mychel Thompson’s tip-in with 4.7 seconds left sent the game to overtime. Pepperdine’s Keion Bell had game highs of 20 points and 10 rebounds.

at No. 7 Purdue 89, Cal State Northridge 64: Robbie Hummel scored 17 points to lead the Boilermakers in the season opener for both teams. Hummel also had six rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Kevin Menner led Northridge with 18 points, but the Matadors shot only 39% from the field, turned the ball over 25 times and made only 23 of 43 free throws.

Boise State 90, Loyola Marymount 87: La’Shard Anderson was six for six from the free-throw line in the final 35 seconds and finished with a game-high 26 points as the Broncos edged the Lions in a tournament at Missoula, Mont. Larry Davis paced the Lions with 22 points on nine-for-14 shooting off the bench.

at UC Irvine 82, La Verne 54: Michael Hunter scored 14 points to lead four Anteaters in double figures. UC Irvine scored the game’s first 15 points against Division III LaVerne. Trevor Woodland scored 13 points to lead the Leopards.

Santa Clara 84, at Cal State Bakersfield 81: Kevin Foster led the Broncos with 21 points in the opener for both teams. Trent Blakley scored 20 points for the Roadrunners, who had 22 turnovers.

at San Francisco 73, Cal Poly SLO 62: Dior Lowhorn scored a game-high 22 points to help the Dons beat the Mustangs in the opener for both teams. Jordan Lewis led Cal Poly with 12 points.
