Disney takes care of Santa’s ‘Prep & Landing’

Can’t wait to talk about: “Prep & Landing”

FOR THE RECORD:
‘Prep & Landing’: An item in last Sunday’s Smart List said Pixar produced the ABC Christmas special “Prep & Landing.” It was produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. —

Our favorite folks at Disney have gone and whipped up a half-hour holiday special for TV! “Prep & Landing” is the never-before-told tale of an elite unit of Santa’s elves known as Prep & Landing. And by elite unit, that’s two inept elves, Wayne and Lanny, sent by Christmas Eve Command Center to prepare houses for Santa’s visits, scanning cookies for nuts (did you know the big guy was allergic?) and warding off the household dogs. (Tuesday)

Everyone talk about: “Sons of Anarchy”

Seems the final showdown in Charming is here: SAMCRO vs. The League. Sure to be epic. The Season 2 finale on FX is titled “Na Trioblóidí,” which is Gaelic for “The Troubles” and refers to the violent, decades-long ethno-political conflict in Northern Ireland. Expecting a big and bloody finish. (Tuesday)

Will we want to talk about: “Jersey Shore”?

Imagine if MTV tried to do its own version of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” But wait, you don’t have to! In “The Real World” fashion, “Jersey Shore” will follow the lives of eight Jersey twentysomethings as they spend a summer in Seaside Heights. MTV says “viewers will see that there is more to these tan and buff individuals than hair gel” -- but not before the network pokes fun at tanning, muscles and hair gel. (Thursday)

You should talk about: “Just Like You”

Favorite tracks from “American Idol” alumna Allison Iraheta’s debut album? “Scars,” a cello-guitar ballad infused with daddy issues, and “No One Else,” written by Pink, Kara DioGuardi and Greg Wells, where Allison really gets to wail. (Tuesday)

I’m sure there are some who will want to talk about: “Brothers”

But for some reason, it reminds me of “Pearl Harbor,” not a good thing: Natalie Portman plays a woman whose Marine husband ( Tobey Maguire) goes missing overseas, and while he’s gone she falls for his brother ( Jake Gyllenhaal). Big, fat melodrama times 10. (Friday)
