Pittsburgh is able to overcome Pirates

With reigning champions in the NFL and the NHL, Pittsburgh was named best sports city by the Sporting News in its annual rankings.

The state of Pennsylvania fared well, with Philadelphia coming in second, ahead of No. 3 Boston, No. 4 Chicago and No. 5 Los Angeles.

“I don’t know how we don’t win this every year,” Mayor Luke Ravenstahl told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Traded by the Cleveland Browns to the Jets earlier this week, Edwards said his new teammates welcomed him by ribbing him.

“A couple of guys cracked on the pants I had on,” said Edwards, who already knows several of the Jets players. “I took that as a good sign.”

So far so good. But then Edwards has yet to play his first game and drop his first pass for the Jets.
