Golden Tate caught 11 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns to lead Notre Dame to a 20-16 victory over Boston College on Saturday at South Bend, Ind., ending a six-game losing streak to the Eagles. Notre Dame (5-2) came up with three interceptions in the second half, the final one with 98 seconds left. The last five games the Fighting Irish had played were decided in the final minute. The Eagles (4-3) repeatedly burned the Notre Dame defense as Dave Shinskie threw for a season-high 279 yards and a touchdown, but the Irish came up with big plays, including two interceptions by Kyle McCarthy. Boston College had five turnovers, and Notre Dame had none.

In Conference USA games: Charles Sims ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns and No. 17 Houston (6-1, 2-1) rolled to a 38-15 win over visiting Southern Methodist (3-4, 2-1). . . . Brian Anderson threw for 315 yards and two touchdowns to lead host Marshall (4-3, 3-1) to a 27-7 victory over Alabama Birmingham (2-5, 2-2). . . . Brett Hodges was eight for 13 passing for 145 yards and a 76-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Guyton to lead Central Florida (4-3, 2-2) to a 49-7 win over host Rice (0-8, 0-4). . . . DeAndre Brown caught a pair of touchdown passes to lead Southern Mississippi (5-3, 3-1) to a 43-6 over visiting Tulane (2-5, 0-4).

In selected Mid-American Conference games: Dan LeFevour threw two touchdown passes and Antonio Brown scored twice to lead Central Michigan (7-1, 5-0) to a 24-10 win over host Bowling Green (3-5, 2-2). . . . Spencer Keith threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns to lead Kent State (4-4, 3-1) to a 20-11 win over host Ohio (5-3, 3-1). . . . Bernard Pierce rushed for 212 yards and three touchdowns to lead Temple (5-2, 4-0) to a 40-24 win over host Toledo (4-4, 2-2).

In selected Sun Belt Conference games: Levi Brown threw for a school-record 469 yards to lead Troy (5-2, 4-0) to a 50-26 win over visiting North Texas (1-6, 0-4). . . . Host Florida Atlantic (2-4, 2-1) rolled up a school-record 624 yards in total offense in a 51-29 win over Louisiana Lafayette (4-3, 2-1).
