Luis Scola pulls through in overtime for Rockets

Luis Scola had 27 points and 11 rebounds, and made consecutive baskets in the last 81 seconds of overtime to help lift the Rockets to a 119-114 victory over Boston on Friday. Aaron Brooks scored 30 with nine assists for the Rockets, hitting a three-pointer with nine seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime. Chase Budinger added 24 points. Paul Pierce scored 27 points and Rajon Rondo 23 for Boston, which has lost three straight at home. Rondo added 10 assists to surpass Bob Cousy for the Celtics’ single-season franchise record.

at San Antonio, 112, Orlando 100: Manu Ginobili scored 43 points, his fourth 30-plus game since replacing Tony Parker in the starting lineup last month, leading the Spurs. Tim Duncan had 23 points and the Spurs. Rashard Lewis and Mickael Pietrus had 18 apiece for the Magic.

at Charlotte 87, Milwaukee 86 (OT): Stephen Jackson scored 32 points and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with a minute left in overtime to lead Charlotte over Milwaukee and further crowd the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Jackson won a scoring duel with John Salmons, who had 28 points and whose 3-pointer in the closing second of regulation tied it. Charlotte (40-35) survived coach Larry Brown’s ejection to win for the 12th time in 16 games and move within a game of the fifth-place Bucks (41-34).

Carlos Delfino scored 14 points in his first game since a scary head injury for Milwaukee. Andrew Bogut added 19 points, 12 rebounds and matched a career high with seven blocks as the Bucks dropped their second tight game in a row.

Phoenix 109, at Detroit 94: Amare Stoudemire scored 27 points on 13-of-15 shooting, and Phoenix won its 10th straight by beating Detroit.

Jared Dudley added a career-high 20 points, hitting 6-of-7 3-pointers, and Grant Hill had 17 against the team where he started his career.

Reserve guard Ben Gordon scored 20 points for Detroit, which lost its 10th in a row and 17th in 19 games, while Tayshaun Prince added 17.

Miami 105, at Indiana 96 (OT): Dwyane Wade scored 43 points, eight in overtime, for the Heat. Wade hit consecutive three-pointers to give the Heat a 101-93 lead with 1:17 left in overtime. He made 14-of-22 field goals, including two of three three-points, and converted 13 of 17 free throws. Michael Beasley added 12 points, Dorell Wright 11 and Mario Chalmers 10 for Miami. Troy Murphy had 29 points and 15 rebounds, and Danny Granger scored 25 points for the Pacers.

at Memphis 107, New Orleans 96: O.J. Mayo scored 27 points, Rudy Gay added 20 and the Grizzlies stayed mathematically alive in the playoff race. Sam Young finished with 19 points and seven rebounds off the Memphis bench. Mike Conley had 15 points.

Chicago 95, at Washington 87: Derrick Rose scored 24 points, Luol Deng had 14 in his return from an injury, for the Bulls, who moved 1 1/2 games behind the Toronto Raptors for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East. Joakim Noah added 10 points and eight rebounds in his return to Chicago’s starting lineup.
