Peyton Manning keeps Colts off NFL Bottom Ten list

Share

After Peyton Manning had thrown 11 interceptions in three games, you couldn’t blame the Dolts if they were beginning to regret choosing him over Ryan Leaf in the 1998 draft.

Thursday, however, Manning came up against the ideal opponent for him — Tennessee, a team that hadn’t intercepted a pass in 10 quarters. The No. 9 Titans couldn’t even pick off one of his throws, succumbing, 28-30, to fall to 5-8.

Moving up to No. 10 were Norv Turner’s Chargers, who fell to Oakland, 28-13, after being penalized for having 12 players on the field twice in one quarter.

As ESPN talk show host Colin Cowherd said of the Chargers’ game against Kansas City this weekend: “Is the bad Norv Turner going to show up or the real bad Norv Turner?”
