Update: Carolina will be going for its fourth consecutive victory after going 3-1-1 on the road. It will be interesting to see how Cam Ward plays in net. On Wednesday against the Florida Panthers, he was pulled less than two minutes into the game after giving up two goals on five shots. Yet the next night against the Atlanta Thrashers he had 45 saves in a 3-2 shootout victory. The Ducks will be trying to rebound from Thursday’s 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders, a game in which backup goalie Curtis McElhinney gave up three goals on 12 shots before he was pulled. Meanwhile, Teemu Selanne has sat out nine of the last 13 games because of a strained groin and remains day to day. He also remains the team’s third-leading scorer with 28 points. And Joffrey Lupul, who has played seven games since rejoining the team in the wake of back surgery and a blood infection, already has three goals and four points.
